David Evans And Associates Construction Project Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado
DEA is currently seeking a Construction Project Engineer for our Construction Engineering Services team in our Denver, CO office. The successful candidate should have a BSCE in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar degree and should be a licensed Professional Engineer preferably registered in the state of Colorado. This position will provide on-site construction management and inspection for roadway and bridge projects in support of our clients.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: * Supervise, direct, coordinate, monitor, and manage project inspectors and materials testers in the field, or office * Coordinate and communicate effectively with Owners, Contractors, or other field engineering staff * Review construction for conformance with contract plans and specifications * Review, analyze, and monitor Contractor's project schedules and method statements * Review and process Shop/Working Drawings submitted by Contractor * Review, analyze, and approve Contractor's Methods of Handling Traffic * Perform or manage daily quality control inspections of construction activities * Coordinate for required materials sampling and testing * Prepare monthly pay estimates and monitor project financial status * Analyze and evaluate Contractor disputes or claims * Prepare and maintain monthly reports and documentation as required by Owner * Conduct final project inspections and project acceptance documentation
Basic Qualifications: 6-10 years of construction management and inspection experience working on roadway, bridge and highway construction projects Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or similar degree PE License, preferably registered in Colorado Ability to work effectively with client representatives, contractors, the public, as well as peers and subordinates Working experience of Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) Standard Specifications for Road & Bridge Construction, and/or Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) specifications and standards
Preferred Qualifications: CDOT or local agency experience inspecting or managing federally funded construction projects Demonstrated project planning, management, and project execution skills in successfully completing projects on time and within budget Bridge/Structures construction inspection experience Ability to utilize computer systems (CDOT AASHTOWare Project SiteManager, PMWeb, MS Project or Primavera) as a tool to effectively manage projects
