The Peace Krypton program is looking for Software Engineering IPT Lead and First Line Manager. This position is the senior engineering position on the program and a career-building opportunity to interact on a daily basis with the Program Manager, program engineering team, and Lockheed Engineering and Technology (E&T) senior Managers and Leaders. We are looking for a proven software engineering leader with experience in software development and passionate about employee career development.
The Work:
• Engineering technical, cost and schedule performance
• Provides timely and accurate projections of engineering resource requirements, to include Program technical staffing needs
• Collaboration across LM Engineering and Technology E&T and Program Management (PM)) for internal resource planning
• Provide Software Engineering Leadership and support related to program execution and proposals
• Leverages proven engineering and software processes, lessons learned, and best practices from other parts of business or industry
• Assume a first-line management position managing a team of 15 engineers across multiple engineering disciplines

Basic Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent experience.
- Excellent People Management skills; ability to work with people of all disciplines and levels
- Excellent written & verbal communication skills - both technical and non-technical
- Demonstrated leadership skills and behaviors that align with the Full Spectrum Leadership Imperatives.
- Experience with planning and coordinating software development in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledgeable in Software Engineering Process and Tools, including experience in executing in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Experience across the Software Development Life Cycle
- Knowledge of LM and program processes and procedures
- Experience with software estimating tools, metrics identification and collection
Desired Skills:
- Prior L-Code/Functional Management Experience
- Prior Experience leading a team and interfacing with stakeholders at all levels implementing innovative, creative, and organized solutions
- Experience with airborne ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance), SAR image processing and/or tactical data link processing
- Knowledge of tools such as Visual Studio IDE, Git/GitLab/BitBucket, Windows OS, JIRA and Confluence
- Familiarity with virtualization, containerization, and microservice architectures/technologies.
- Experience with full Software Development Lifecycles in a DOD environment including requirements, development and/or test experience, Object-oriented methodology
- Experience in Planning and organizing a team: Staffing, tools (SW Dev tools), maintaining Software Development Plan (SDP)
- Knowledgeable of practices, artifacts (Unified Modeling Language (UML) diagrams, requirement database), documentation, Software Requirements Specification (SRS), Interface Requirements Specification (IRS), Interface Control Document(ICD), Software Design Document (SDD)
- Knowledgeable of Operations and Maintenance (O&M) – practices such as break/fix and enhancements to customers, tracking Problem Reports to closure, CM
- Familiarity with programming languages: C#, C++, xml/xaml

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
Pay Rate: The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Washington or Washington DC is $105,000 - $201,100. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer. Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays. (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year. This position is incentive plan eligible.
