What We Want

The Research Assistant will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Anderson Lab. The selected candidate will be responsible for screening potential participants for eligibility, scheduling participants for experiments, maintaining data and other lab records, interfacing with the International Review Board (IRB), assisting with data collection efforts, and assisting with the reporting of research outcomes to funding agencies and other organizations. The Research Assistant will also assist with the programming of experiments, the development of study protocols, the conduct of literature reviews, data analysis, the reporting of results in research manuscripts, and other research-related duties as assigned.

  • Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience

  • Special Note: All or a portion of the salary for this position may be funded by grant or contracts. The continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, or related field

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated high attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to work with groups and be helpful, respectful, approachable, and team oriented

  • Ability to build strong working relationships and a positive work environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant coursework in cognitive psychology, cognitive neuroscience, biological psychology, or statistics

  • Prior experience as a research assistant in a laboratory studying human cognition, conducting research that is related to the work conducted in the Anderson Lab

Responsibilities:

  • Research Administrative Responsibilities: Coordinate student research assistant schedules. Instruct student research assistants in conducting research. Interface with the International Review Board (IRB). Maintain data and other lab records. Assist with the reporting of research outcomes to funding agencies and other organizations.

  • Assist/Conduct Research: Assist with conducting research on qualified participants. Post study fliers and announcements. Recruit and screen participants. Collect data.

  • Study Development: Assist with the programming of experiments. Assist with the development of study protocols.

  • Reporting of Research: Assist with conducting literature reviews and data analysis. Assist with reporting results in research manuscripts.
