What We Want

The Research Assistant will be responsible for scheduling participant visits, coordinating and training undergraduate research assistants, and assisting the PI with IRB approvals. The selected candidate will organize data management, community outreach, participant recruitment, and managing social media accounts. Additional responsibilities will include making copies, sending faxes, and assisting with reports to federal agencies.

  • Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected hire’s education and experience

  • Special Note: This position is funded from grant and/or contract funding, which is renewed through provisions of the grantor of the contract. Therefore, this position is contingent upon continuation of funding from these grants and/or contracts, as well as satisfactory job performance.

    Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated high attention to detail

  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Ability to work with people and be helpful, respectful, approachable, and team oriented

  • Ability to build strong working relationships and a positive work environment

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Biology, or related field

  • Experience conducting human subjects research

  • Experience working with children

  • Ability to work with communities and families

  • Experience conducting psychophysiological research

  • Ability to lead and manage teams (or leadership experience)

  • Spanish language fluency

    Responsibilities:

  • Data collection: Collect, through in-person and virtual modalities, behavioral and psychophysiological data with parents and children

  • Supervise and coordinate research teams: Coordinate scheduling and supervise the work of undergraduate researchers by identifying areas of priority, assigning tasks, tracking progress, and answering questions as needed

  • Human subjects participant recruitment and scheduling: Recruit families for human subjects research using mailing, social-media, e-mail, and in-person methods; establish relationships with community partners for participant recruitment

  • Data coding and management: Clean and score behavioral and psychophysiological data; construct data sets for statistical analysis; work with the Primary Investigator to organize data storage and sharing
