The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct research in experimental particle physics. Please see below for a breakdown of position responsibilities.
What You Need to Know
Salary: Compensation will be commensurate based on the selected candidate's education and experience.
Special Note: Due to this position's salary having all or a portion of it being funded by grants or contracts, the continuing salary and overall employment is contingent upon availability of these funds in the future.
Required Education and Experience:
- Ph.D. in Physics with specialization in Experimental High Energy Physics
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Computing and software skills in C++, Python, and other programming languages
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in areas related to Muon Hardware and electronics R&D
Understanding of CMS computing software
Responsibilities:
Analysis: Analyze CMS data.
Research: Conduct research on CMS detector and electronics R&D, Muon calibrations, CSC and GEM trigger upgrades.
Publishing: Publish results in peer-reviewed journals and through conference participation.
Mentorship: Mentor graduate and undergraduate students.
