Job Description
Technology Services (https://it.tamu.edu/) is on the hunt for motivated IT Professional I to play a key role in supporting the Bush School (https://bush.tamu.edu/) . Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
Installs, configures, maintains, and upgrades workstation hardware and software.
Moves equipment.
Trains departmental student workers.
Investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves workstation and network issues.
Recommends workstation upgrades and specifications for hardware purchases.
Monitors and maintains system security.
Provides centralized support for computer needs on campus and regional locations.
Researches, recommends, and resolves technical and procedural problems.
Provides estimates, project and progress reports.
Collaborates with departmental staff to outline technology goals and objectives.
Recommends efficiency improvements and operational enhancements.
Assists management in planning, directing, and coordinating operational and procedural matters.
Leads IT staff for onboarding and offboarding new users.
Reviews and refines IT policies, procedures, and workflows.
Identifies opportunities to improve IT efficiency and recommends solutions.
Uses Laserfiche tools to build and implement streamlined processes
Plans and implements projects using basic project management principles.
This opportunity is an onsite position here in College Station, Texas.
Salary: Up to $47,200, dependent on education and experience.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience AND four months (1 semester) of student worker and/or customer service experience .
Strong interpersonal skills
Excellent Customer service skills
A well-qualified candidate sh ould possess one o r more of the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT Management, or related discipline
Two years of related experience in IT Desktop Support and customer services experience
Other Requirements and Factors
This position may require work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends
This position does not allow alternate work location
This position is security sensitive
This position requires compliance with state and federal laws/codes and Texas A&M University System/TAMU policies, regulations, rules and procedures
All tasks and job responsibilities must be performed safely without injury to self or others in compliance with System and University safety requirements
