Secretary 7-8

Duties in this position include but are not limited to: being aware of and having knowledge of the Director’s viewpoint in relation to sensitive and difficult situations and issues. Preparing and editing routine correspondence and reports; and taking meeting minutes. Assembles information from files, documents, newspapers, and other available resources for use by the Director, office staff, and others.

Secretary 9

Position functions as an advanced level secretary, performing management assistant activities for the Director and management staff. Work is performed independently under general guidance from the Director and requires thorough knowledge of the secretarial discipline, instructions, guidelines and the abilities to interpret the Manager’s viewpoints to others. Coordinate office activities, participate in management activities, as well as coordinate the following functions for the entire County: Administrative Hearings, Timekeeper, Voter Registration coordinator, Training coordinator, Bridges security back-up, Central Registry Clearance back-up. Complete monthly Onboard Report. Requires handling of all confidential materials for the County.

Executive Secretary E10

Provide management assistance and secretarial support to the Director. Liaison between Director, Program Manager and staff, Social Services Board, public agencies/officials, etc. Coordinate activities, complete special assignments, respond to and resolve problems, be aware of and support the Director’s viewpoints. May function as the designated Personnel onsite contact. This position handles many confidential and sensitive materials, relevant not only to staff, but also management personnel.

Two years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including one year equivalent to 6-level administrative support experience.

Three years of office experience involving administrative support practices, including one year equivalent to experienced-level administrative support work or equivalent to a Secretary 7 or Legal Secretary 7.

Secretary 9

Based on operational needs and within established limits, remote work and alternate or hybrid work schedule requests for this position may be considered.

Selected candidates who have been approved to work remotely or a hybrid schedule must complete that work within Michigan. Candidates should confirm work location and schedule at the time of interview.

Employees will be provided computers to perform state work. Phones may also be provided for necessary communications. If working remotely, employees will be responsible for providing other components of a remote office at their own expense, including:
