Elmet Technologies LLC 3rd Shift CNC Programmer in COLDWATER, Michigan

POSITION SUMMARY

Within the area of responsibility, the CNC Programmer develops programs to control machining or processing of product by automatic machine tools, equipment, or systems. The CNC Programmer will monitor quality by taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes and adjusting/reprogramming controls to satisfy the needs of our customers (Quality, Cost, and Delivery).

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES .

  • Duties and assignments as required by Operations Leadership

  • Safe and efficient operation of equipment to meet the needs (Quality, Cost, and Delivery) of our customers.

  • Maintain cross training on a minimum of 7 processes within the Machining Department with the ability to program Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) equipment.

  • Accurate recording/completion of production paperwork and SAP tasks.

  • Interpret drawings and plan work in proper sequence.

  • Perform daily inspections of equipment (TPR) and maintain housekeeping expectations (5S).

  • Perform machine set-ups and product changeovers per production schedule.

  • Accurately maintain inventory control systems (Kan Ban) and accurately maintain lot traceability of product throughout the value stream.

  • Operation of industrial equipment (forklift, cranes, hand carts, hand tools, etc.)

  • Alter existing tooling and make up temporary tooling as required.

  • Actively participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve our Competitive Advantage (Quality, Cost, and Delivery).

  • Actively support development work performed by the Engineering Department.

    QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION

  • 5 to 7 years manufacturing experience with Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) processes.

  • Ability to read blueprints at an advanced level and perform intermediate shop math.

  • High School diploma of GED

  • Required to Maintain Licenses on Overhead Crane and Forklifts

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Mixed work environment between office and manufacturing production areas.  Able to carry up to 35 pounds and able to work in a variety of spaces, and production areas with provided required PPE. 

  • Work time spent on the manufacturing floor could have temperatures exposures of >100°F.
