Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a world-renowned scientific research organization located on the North Shore of Long Island, is seeking a seasonal prep cook. Preparation of hot/cold food products as directed by chef and cook staff.
- Position Responsibilities
- Prepare hot & cold food as directed by chef(s)
- Making sandwiches and salads as directed by chef(s)
- Follow proper sanitation procedures.
- Provides support to the chef(s)which involves:
- Providing project information as needed.
- Position Requirements
EDUCATION: Culinary education a plus.EXPERIENCE: Cooking experience in restaurant, catering and/or hotel preferred.OTHER: Sanitation Certificate required; ability to speak and understand the Spanish language
is a plus. Ability to work evenings, weekends and holidays as required.- Basic food prep skills including proper use of knives and other cooking equipment

CompensationThe hourly rate for this role is $17.72-24.80 The salary range and/or hourly rate listed is a good faith determination of potential base compensation that may be offered to a successful applicant for this position at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future. When determining a base salary and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., years of relevant experience, education, credentials, and internal equity).We strongly encourage you to be vaccinated against COVID 19 however; it is not a requirement for employment.
