Overview
The State Of Vermont Military Department is looking for a Force Protection Officer to work at its location in Colchester. FPO\'s provide protective/first responder service to the Vermont National Guard. Work will be conducted on a military installation via fixed posts, mounted and foot patrols. Attention to detail, written and verbal skills honesty, integrity, accountability, teamwork, problem solving, and adherence and enforcement of regulations, ability to adapt to any situation are a must.
Enjoy a consistent and predictable work schedule, consecutive days off, overtime opportunities but rarely forced or unexpected.
Environmental Factors
Incumbents will be expected to work night and weekend shifts, safely operate around moving aircraft, work in restricted areas, be exposed to sensitive classified information, and be frequently alone in adverse weather conditions, all while wearing heavy equipment. Integrity, honesty, and tact are critical in dealing with VIPs, installation military and civilian employees, guests, and the general public. Some exposure to dangerous situations is occasionally encountered. Incumbents are expected to carry firearms. Must wear a uniform and body armor.
