This is a salaried, exempt-level position

Role Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Second Shift Manager to oversee our plant operations during the evening hours. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality food production by managing sanitation and maintenance teams, fostering a positive workplace culture, and adhering to regulatory standards.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Direct and coordinate daily operations for sanitation and maintenance on the second shift.

  • Supervise plant floor staff and monitor performance to ensure productivity and adherence to company policies.

  • Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure timely repair and replacement of equipment.

  • Develop and implement processes to enhance productivity and operational efficiency.

  • Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines.

  • Mentor and train Second Shift Supervisors to strengthen their leadership skills.

  • Conduct regular observations of production activities to build rapport with employees and identify areas for improvement.

  • Address workplace performance issues and manage disciplinary actions as necessary.

  • Oversee employee scheduling and roster management to optimize workforce utilization.

  • Facilitate training and development programs to maintain compliance with quality system requirements.

  • Actively participate in audits, internal reviews, and crisis management teams.

Role Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

  • Proven experience in plant operations management is required.

  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements for food production facilities.

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English strongly preferred.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong aptitude for root cause analysis and troubleshooting operational issues.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and familiar with various plant equipment.

  • Strong leadership abilities with exceptional organizational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to stand, sit, and walk for extended periods.

  • In-depth knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP).

  • Awareness and adherence to OSHA regulations applicable to job tasks.
