Description
Job Overview: As Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food items in accordance with recipes and established standards in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding service.
You Will Be Responsible For:
Preparing all food items according to designated recipes and quality standards
Maintaining cleanliness and comply with food sanitation standards at all times
Managing orders in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
Ensuring knowledge of menu and all food products
Stocking and maintaining designated food station(s)
Visually inspecting all food sent from the kitchen
Practicing correct food handling and food storage procedures according to federal, state, local and company regulations
Preparing requisitions for supplies and food items, as needed
You Will Bring To The Table:
Strong working knowledge of the fundamentals of the broiler, saute, fry, roast, moist heat and other cooking methods
Strong working knowledge of accepted standards of sanitation
Knowledge of operating all kitchen equipment, i.e., stoves, ovens, broilers, steamers, kettles, etc.
Basic mathematical skills necessary to understand recipes, measurements, requisition amounts and portion sizes.
Ability to stand and to work continuously in confined spaces.
Ability to perform duties within extreme temperature ranges.
Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player
Finger/hand dexterity in order to operate food machinery
Ability to grasp, lift and/or carry, or otherwise, move goods weighing a maximum of 100 lbs. on a continuous schedule.
