Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a GL - Press. In this role, you will be responsible for removing finished folded cartons from the press, performing quality checks, and packing them into cases. This position requires the ability to consistently lift heavy products and reach across and above the machine to handle stacked items.

Responsibilities

• Remove finished folded cartons from the press and pack them into cases.

• Stack set kits on the skid and perform consistent lifting.

• Ensure only quality products are packed and perform quality checks according to SOPs.

• Apply correct case labels to corrugated cases.

• Handle heavier products, such as McDonald's cartons, and reach across and above the machine.

Essential Skills

• 2+ years of manufacturing experience in packaging or machine operating.

• Mechanical aptitude to perform minor fixes on the machine.

• Strong personality with a willingness to grow and learn into future positions.

• Ability to reach across and above the machine and consistently lift up to 50 lbs.

• Honesty in answering screening questions regarding previous interviews and attendance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Good personal hygiene and consciousness of food allergies.

• No nail polish, perfume, or jewelry as per GMP standards.

Work Environment

You will be working in a loud machine environment where safety is the top priority. Our facility has 116 hourly employees on the floor. The shift runs on continental rotating shifts (Sunday to Saturday), with two weeks on day shifts (7 am to 7 pm) and two weeks on night shifts (7 pm to 7 am). You will rotate every long weekend off. Week 1 consists of 48 hours, and Week 2 consists of 36 hours, with overtime paid for anything over 80 hours bi-weekly.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cobourg, Ontario.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.54 - $19.54/hr.
