Requisition Summary As part of the Department of Energy SuperTruck 3 program, PACCAR is building four heavy duty battery electric commercial truck prototypes to demonstrate future technologies and vehicle designs expanding the applications of electric commercial vehicles. This intern role will be part of the Vehicle Integration team working in the Kenworth Renton Truck Plant, and will work alongside the team to assist in the build including mechanical assembly, small part design and administrative support of inventory tracking and control and documentation of build process. Job Functions / Responsibilities Assist in mechanical and electrical assembly of SuperTruck 3 Gen 2+ and Gen 3 prototypes Identify, design and manufacture solutions for mechanical integration problems including parts not fitting, missing brackets etc Diagnose and fix low voltage electrical issues with wiring harnesses and components, fabricate small harnesses to test and fix issues Work with project managers and supervisor to track parts through design, ordering and inventory Document build processes, procedures and lessons learned from team - in written word documents and powerpoint presentations with photos Skills / Competencies Strong hands-on mechanical or electrical skills Experience working on cars, farm or industrial equipment personally or professionally Demonstrated collaborative team player effective at working through problems and conflicts with others Interest in electric vehicles and powertrains Fabrication or machining experience a plus but not required Interest in work procedures and maintaining a safe, organized work environment Ability to lift 50lbs Education Master or bachelor's degree in Progress U.S. Intern Benefits As a U.S. PACCAR intern, you have a full range of benefit options including: Competitive salary and 401k with up to a 5% company match Medical, dental, and vision plans for you and your family Sick Leave Flexible spending accounts (FSA) and health savings accounts (HSA) EAP services: including wellness plans, estate planning, financial counseling, and more Global Fortune 500 company with a wide array of growth, training, and development opportunities Work alongside experienced goal-oriented colleagues recognized as experts in their field Additional Job Board Information At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. The salary range for internship positions is $25 an hour for undergraduate students and $30 an hour for graduate students.
