Get started! Requisition Summary The M/Y Alliance is a 136' Delta Marine yacht used for entertaining PACCAR clients, customers, and suppliers. The yacht assets and operations are expected to be kept to the highest standards for engineering, appearance, service, and safety. The operation of the yacht should be a reflection of PACCAR's culture and an example of PACCAR quality. The captain is directly responsible for the yacht and yacht operations. The vessel's home port is Meydenbauer Bay, Bellevue Washington. The summer cruising season runs from May to September and consists of up to twentry-five cruise trips, with two to four night per trip for up to eight guests. Days off are provided between trips for crew time off and next trip preparation. Cruising is done on inland waters of Washington State and British Columbia. Before and after the summer season, spring and fall dinner cruises are run on Lake Washington with sit-down dining for up to twenty-four passengers. In the past specialty cruises have included summer cruises in Alaska winter cruising in Mexico. The Alliance runs with a crew of four - captain, engineer, chef, and steward. Each crew member has a private cabin, head, and shower. The crew operates with the attitude of all-hands helping or everyone-helps-everyone flexible approach. The summer crusing schedule requires that crew members be comfortable working away from home port for extended periods remote waters. Crew members are expected to pass a coast guard physical exam and remain physically and mentally fit. Job Functions / Responsibilities * Operate the vessel as outlined in Vessel Operations and keep to scheduled cruise timing. * Keep highest safety in operations. Inspect and operate the vessel to ensure safety of crew and passengers. * Conform to understand applicable regulations. * Direct and supervise the crew. Assign crew duties and watches. * Steer and operate the vessel or order crew to steer vessel. * Manage the procurement of supplies and equipment. * Arrange and manage vessel maintenance and haul out for winter work. * Adhere to the established operating and maintenance budget * Operate a dedicated continuous improvement program, with annual goals and performance metrics. * Set expectations for ongoing training and manage crew participation in training. * Interact comfortably and professionally with guests and PACCAR managers. Skills / Competencies * Skill in all aspects of large motor yacht operations including boat handling, navigation, and safety * Geographic knowledge of northwest inland cruising waters from Puget Sound north to Alaska * Good communication skills and strong leadership experience * Proficiency in navigation using radio, depth finder, radar, lights, GPS, charts, buoys, lighthouses, and knowledge of local conditions * Proficiency in position computation using charts, area plotting sheets, compass, and sextant * Ability to manage an emergency situation and give direction in a calm manner * Business knowledge appropriate for yach
