Plateau is now accepting applications for the position of Chief Operations Officer.
Since its inception in 1949 as Eastern New Mexico Rural Telephone Cooperative (now referred to as Plateau), the Company has grown to cover a service area of over 25,000 square miles, covering 25 ILEC exchanges and 11 CLEC markets across 20 counties in eastern New Mexico and West Texas. The Company is also a key transport provider in the region and is continually expanding its CLEC footprint throughout New Mexico. Headquartered in Clovis, New Mexico, Plateau employs 200 area residents.
The Chief Operations Officer (COO) will be responsible for directing and overseeing designated departments and projects associated with the expansion and maintenance of the Companys fiber network. This includes reviewing and advising on various grant opportunities, project engineering, right-of-way and permitting, contract development and review, and all aspects of the construction process. The COO recommends major improvements to processes, plant, and equipment to aid in the advancement of Company objectives and acts as a representative for the organization, developing and maintaining positive, effective relationships with customers, community leaders, regulatory agencies, business partners and others.
The successful candidate for this position will have a bachelors degree in engineering, business, or another related field, previous experience in a senior leadership role within the telecommunications industry, previous project management experience, and a demonstrated ability to think critically, solve problems, and lead others.
