Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cut-and-Sew Specialist to join our dynamic automotive development studio. The Ideal Candidate will have extensive experience in sewing and upholstery work (particularly in the automotive industry) focusing on seating, instrument panels, doors, pillars, and other wrapped surfaces within the vehicle.

Responsibilities: Include but not limited to:

  • Pattern Making and Cutting: Develop and cut precise patterns for automotive seating, instrument panels, doors, pillars, and other interior surfaces.
  • Sewing and Assembly: Sew and assemble various automotive interior components, ensuring high quality and durability.
  • Material Selection: Work with a variety of materials including leather, fabric, vinyl, and synthetic fibers, selecting the best options for each project.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet company standards and client specifications.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with designers, engineers, and other team members to ensure seamless integration of interior components.
  • Prototyping: Assist in the development of prototypes for new designs and concepts, providing input on practicality and manufacturability.
  • Maintenance: Maintain and troubleshoot sewing machines and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a cut and sew role within the automotive industry or similar field.
  • Skills: Proficient in pattern making, cutting, sewing, and upholstery work. Strong attention to detail and precision.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with different types of automotive materials and their applications.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent: relevant technical certifications or training a plus.
