Duties and Responsibilities:
Welds metal parts together in various positions per the weld process specifications. Performs welding on a wide variety of metals and alloys, as required on WPS and setup specs. Calculate and measure the dimensions of parts to be welded. Welds weldments where alignments, dimensional, and weld quality must conform to size, location and type requirements. Uses weld fixtures, gauges, and jigs. Monitor welding process and adjust heat as needed. Maintains welding equipment and machinery. Assess the quality of welds and identify flaws. Inspects parts using precision measuring equipment and documents inspection data. Must inspect weld surfaces and metal types for preparation of a quality weld. Must always follow safety and health procedures to avoid accident and hazards. Cleans and organizes work area.
