Pay rate: $48.89/ hr
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
To obtain samples, prepare the samples, and analyze the samples for chemical and radioanalytical analysis from plant systems.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Record and trend data from the chemical analysis.
Notify chemistry management for out of specification conditions and adverse trends.
Respond to operations chemistry needs.
Support environmental sampling by obtaining, preparing, analyzing, and shipping samples off site, as required.
Perform the on-shift chemistry technician emergency plan duties.
Perform inventories of chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
Maintain the laboratory and instruments in top material condition with good housekeeping.
Perform self-monitoring of radiation dose equivalent and perform associated radiological surveys for chemistry related tasks.
As required, to changeout gas bottles for chemical and counting room instrument; to change resin columns for laboratory demineralized water systems; and to replace chart paper on recorders.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED
Ability to pass pre-employment EEI TECH testing
Ability to work different shifts
Ability to receive unescorted Nuclear access
Excellent communication, teamwork and organizational skills
AND at least one of the following requirements below :
o Bachelor degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering, or equivalent degree OR
o Two years work experience in chemistry OR
o Navy nuclear experience as an Engineering Lab Technician (ELT)
