Description:
Position Purpose
Performs Ultrasound exams including OB/Gyn, abdominal, breast and small parts on a scheduled or emergent basis. Assists Radiologist as requested when needed. Ages of patients served range in age from newborn to geriatric.
What You Will Do
Operates 2D, M-mode, and Doppler ultrasound unit with appropriate transducers utilized to perform and adequately ascertain the location of specific organs, with demonstration on film with recordings of appropriate calculations for measurements.
Assists physician(s) and/or radiologist(s) in specialized procedures.
Utilizes critical thinking in daily and emergent assessment of proper protocols.
Assesses each patient for proper prep/scanning procedure for each ordered exam.
Follows the ARDMS rules and regulations.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be board eligible by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiology Technologist.
Must be certified as a RDMS or ARRT in ABD, OB/GYN, Breast and RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist) within a time frame determined by the hiring manager and in accordance with the American College of Radiology.
Completion of associate degree in area of Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Must be BLS certified within 3 months of hire.
