Registered Nurse (RN) HOPS - Cath Lab

Cleveland Clinic's Section of Invasive and Interventional Cardiology offers the latest, most technologically advanced diagnostic tests and catheter-based treatments for atherosclerosis, heart valve disease, adult congenital heart disease and peripheral artery disease. Cleveland Clinic is fortunate to have teams of physicians, advanced practice nurses and physician assistants, nurses, and technicians who have a great deal of experience in taking care of patients who present to the Section of Invasive and Interventional Cardiology, performing over 11,000 procedures each year. With a long record of practice-changing research and innovation, Cleveland Clinic often can provide patients with catheter-based treatment options that are still in trial and not widely available.
A caregiver in this position works 7:00am - 3:30pm/7:30pm with on-call requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Provide nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic or therapeutic services to hospitalized patients in various healthcare settings.
Assess patients, complete nursing assessments, document findings in patient records and notify physicians of abnormal findings.
Perform telephone triage and call rotations.
Perform nursing procedures and administer treatments and medications.
Establish care plans in collaboration with patients, families and the health care team.
Coordinate ongoing care, identify discharge needs and facilitate discharge planning.
Evaluate, initiate and maintain standards of care.
Educate patients and families.
Cover other nursing roles in the department.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
One year of recent experience as an RN.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Two years of recent experience as an RN.
One year of critical care experience in a hospital setting.

Physical Requirements:
Requires full range of motion, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
Requires corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
Requires some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
