Research Animal Technician - Part Time

Our client is a growing pharmaceutical developer, and they are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Research Animal Technician to join their team!

Location: Cleveland, OH

Schedule: PART TIME – 8am-5pm

Pay: $20-$24/hour

This role involves caring for laboratory animals used in scientific research, including feeding, cleaning, monitoring, and providing medical care. You will also assist researchers in their work, ensuring that all procedures comply with ethical guidelines and regulations. Our ideal candidate has a strong commitment to animal welfare, excellent observational skills, and experience in a laboratory or veterinary setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine care for laboratory animals including feeding, cleaning cages, and monitoring health and well-being

• Administer medications, treatments, and special diets as directed

• Assist with breeding and weaning protocols

• Observe animals for signs of illness or distress and report findings

• Assist researchers with experimental procedures

• Monitor and maintain the health and welfare of laboratory animals.

• Perform routine animal care tasks such as feeding, weighing, and bathing animals.

• Observe and record animal behavior and report any abnormal behavior or health issues to a veterinarian.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 years’ Experience as an Animal Technician, Vet Tech, or similar role

• Rodent experience required (Rats and mice)

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in Animal Science, Biology, or related field is advantageousINDBH
