The Sherwin-Williams Company R&D Winter Lab Assistant in Cleveland, Ohio
This position is a great learning experience for students to gain experience in Global Supply Chain R&D during winter break. Students will be assigned to a specific lab and will be given a mentor. The student will be an active participant in the lab. This opportunity will allow students to gain experience in work groups, as well as working with other R&D professionals. This position will be located at our Breen Technology Center and Warrensville Technical Center in Cleveland, OH. * Provide support to technicians, chemists and scientists within assigned Research & Development Group. * Perform a variety of laboratory tasks utilizing general instruments and advanced lab equipment. * Collaborate with other research and development team members to complete required tasks, including process chemistry and engineering and material science research groups. * Complete appropriate research documentation, calculations, and data analysis and effectively communicate these results with supervisor and team members. * Prepare basic samples, materials, equipment, and other required tools for laboratory tests or development. * Perform basic technical development, tests, analyses, and research based on formulas and project requirements. * Complete appropriate forms and documentation regarding research and development processes, tasks, results, reports and conclusions; receives direction from other technicians or chemists on specialized or complex issues. * Perform basic calculations to prepare, perform, and conclude tests and analyses. * Clean, maintain and calibrate standard equipment and maintain a clean and safe working environment. * Performs other duties as assigned. * Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics ("STEM") * Have previous Sherwin-Williams lab experience * Be a rising or current sophomore, Junior or Senior in college or university at the start of the internship program * Must be willing to work up to 40 hours per week for a total of 4 weeks over winter break, with or without reasonable accommodation PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS * Previous experience in a Sherwin-Williams research and development (R&D) Internship or Co-op Program * Minimum of 2.8 GPA Sherwin-Williams is proud to be an Affirmative Action, Equal Employment Opportunity, Inclusion and Diversity Supportive Employer.
