This position of Application Specialist within the Application Innovation Center is responsible for providing application and technical data to Technical, Marketing and Sales groups of the Performance Coatings Group for new and existing products, with a focus on OEM, Robotics and Automation. This position has a major impact on new product development and innovative application techniques for specific market segments (we choose to compete in). Application testing of new development projects, evaluation projects, or service projects with Technical. This process includes automated spray application, plural component, and electrostatic systems, testing and issuing evaluation reports. Develop customer specific application methods meeting specified parameters and cycle time of automated process. Product application demonstration for customers, sales, and technical service, both in-house and at customer facilities. Provide customer support as needed in the application component of customer service. Evaluate and provide feedback on new Innovative application techniques. Chose and advise on best possible equipment for test purposes. Communicate clearly with Marketing and Sales on products and developed processes. Communicate customer needs for new products and changes needed to existing products to Technical and Marketing. Maintain, diagnose, and repair complex application equipment which include guns, pumps, valves and electronics. Provide application assistance in problem solving to sales and customers. Assist in training the Technical Service Representatives across PCG business units so best possible knowledge gets to customer. Adhere to company safety standards at all times. Additional duties as assigned. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status). High school diploma or equivalent. At least 5 years automated manufacturing application experience. Minimum of 10 years 2K Solvent and 2K Waterborne paint application experience. Excellent mechanical and application skills and abilities. Knowledge of OEM application equipment, processes, and procedures. High level of experience and knowledge in Automation and Manufacturing marketplace. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent planning and organizational skills. Must have a standard or better performance rating. Excellent spray application skills and abilities. Applicant must be able to troubleshoot problems and find solutions to Automation and Manufacturing scenarios. Must be proficient at Excel, Word and PowerPoint. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Technical/Vocational Engineering Training 15 years of OEM Manufacturing Application experience. Expertise in electrostatic and plural component equipment.
