The Sherwin-Williams Company PURCHASING- Manager Sourcing in Cleveland, Ohio

This position is responsible for the overall global management of a wide range of Consumer Brands Group (CBG) Applicator products including both finished goods and raw materials. Majority of time is spent communicating with suppliers both domestic and international while also managing internal communications with Applicator business unit. Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Responsibilities: Serve as the primary Purchasing contact for Applicators Business Unit. Develop and implement domestic and/or global category sourcing strategies and plans for assigned categories consistent with enterprise strategies and Applicator Business Unit operating plans and objectives. Identify challenges & opportunities within category by overseeing the gathering, analysis, and subsequent interpretation of quantitative and qualitative information. Then subsequently choosing the best course of action by establishing clear decision criteria, generating and evaluating alternatives, and making timely decisions. Manage cost through forecasting, implementation of RFQs and other cost management programs including continuous improvement projects. Ensure that both internal and external client perspectives are a driving force behind strategic priorities, business decisions, organizational processes and individual activities. Collaborate with key internal and external functional areas to ensure strategy design, alignment and implementation of value objectives are met. Provide purchasing based information such as Forecasting, Market Conditions, Strategy Shifts, etc. Advocate for the Client back into Purchasing. Identify and develop new suppliers. Negotiate and implement sourcing agreements/contracts which provide supply assurance and improve Sherwin-Williams' competitive position in the market. Control payment terms, discounts, consignment programs for areas of responsibility Globally. Establish action plans for self, direct reports, & others to complete work efficiently by setting priorities, establishing timelines and leveraging resources. Oversee assigned essential functional areas for direct reports ensuring structured development opportunities & successful execution of department strategy. Formal Education: Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution Knowledge & Experience: Required: Minimum of six (6) years post college experience Preferred: Minimum of seven to ten (7-10) successful Sourcing, Marketing, Technical, Operations, Supply Chain, or related experience is desirable. Must be a self-starter with an ability to work with minimal direction/supervision in a fast-paced environment. Proven track record of Independent Thinking, Cost Savings, Technical Expertise, and ability to drive change within the scope of their duties. Track record of increasing responsibility with strong performance and focus on cost savings and security of supply. International business exposure. Experience with toll manufacturing.
