Robert Half Property Accountant in Cleveland, Ohio

Description We are searching for a meticulous Property Accountant to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. The primary function of this role is to manage the full accounting responsibility for an assigned group of properties, prepare financial statements, and coordinate with various departments. This role is set in a hybrid work environment and offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

• Manage full accounting responsibility for an assigned group of properties including monthly and annual closings, recording of amortization and depreciation, accrual adjustments and preparation of month-end journal entries.

• Prepare financial statements and manage the close for the end of the period.

• Monitor cash balances and complete wire requests.

• Reconcile bank accounts and coordinate with Accounts Payable.

• Calculate percentage rent charges and tenant CAM charges in accordance with lease terms and prepare annual reconciliations.

• Assist with the annual budget preparation and audit/review process.

• Communicate effectively with other departments and handle other duties as assigned.

• Utilize Microsoft Excel, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), MRI Software, and other skills related to Commercial Real Estate, CAM Reconciliation, and Month End Close processes. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a Property Accountant role

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required

• Must have experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of MRI Software is essential

• Experience in the Commercial Real Estate industry is required

• Familiarity with Cam Reconciliation is necessary

• Must be able to handle Month End Close tasks effectively

• Must have experience in managing Cash Balances

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Knowledge of federal, state, and local real estate property regulations and laws

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• High attention to detail and accuracy

• Strong organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines.
