Cleveland Clinic Pediatric Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist- ADHD in Cleveland, Ohio

As a Behavioral Health Outpatient Therapist, you will utilize knowledge and skills in the areas of psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews, assessments, and treatment plans while working with patients ranging in age from 5 years old to late adulthood. The caregiver in this role will provide individual, group and/or family-oriented therapy sessions and utilize a clinical focus across the mental health spectrum, including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia.

A caregiver in this position works 12:00pm-8:00pm or 8:00am-5:00pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Utilize specialized clinical knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the area's psychotherapy, clinical counseling, diagnostic interviews, assessments, and treatment plans to patients.

  • Participate in development and implementation of an appropriate assessment based interdisciplinary treatment plan.

  • Consult with team managers, statutory and voluntary agencies, and patient relatives to ensure compliance with patient treatment plan.

  • Complete comprehensive psychosocial assessment participates in interdisciplinary rounds.

  • Provide individual, group, family, and crisis counseling.

  • Act as a liaison with patients, families, community support workers and facilities to obtain information and facilitate discharge planning.

  • Provide education and resources for patients and family members.

  • Supervise and/or trains lower-level social workers, students, or interns. Processes paperwork, telephone calls and completes clinical documentation.

  • Participate in continuing professional education, departmental meetings, and teaching.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Master's degree in social work, counseling, or related field.

  • Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), or Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)

  • OR Licensed Social Worker (LSW).

  • No record of substantiated ethics or patient abuse reports.

  • Three years of experience in a behavioral health setting is required with comprehensive knowledge of current psychotherapeutic techniques, theories, and practices sufficient to evaluate, diagnose and counsel patients.

  • Can document clinical findings and patient needs in an electronic medical record while navigating a multi-specialized behavioral health environment and the ability to communicate across different electronic platforms and across a broad geographic provide base is essential.

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • LISW or LISW-s, LPCC or LPCC-S.

  • Experience with ADHD and Externalizing disorders, school systems, and parent management.

Physical Requirements:

  • A high degree of manual dexterity to produce materials on PC; normal or corrected vision; extensive sitting and frequent walking; occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds.
