Nexus Engineering Group Mechanical Engineer in Cleveland, Ohio
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for performing technical calculations required to prepare mechanical deliverables including:
Developing project scope including P&ID development and equipment selection
Collection and presentation of key data/information
Detailed engineering calculations
Technical specifications & datasheets
Conducting vendor drawing and calculation reviews
Technical evaluation of bids
Assistance in field work, construction support, and problem-solving activities.
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for assuring quality and timely completion of engineering designs and reports. The Mechanical Engineer should be comfortable in interfacing with the clients, visiting clients’ facilities and performing physical work such as walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing stairs/ladders.
The Mechanical Engineer reports to the Mechanical Discipline Manager.
Responsibilities:
Assuring quality and timely completion of engineering designs and reports.
Comfortable in interfacing with the clients, visiting clients’ facilities and performing physical work such as walking, stooping, kneeling and climbing stairs/ladders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required
EIT Certification desired
Advanced degree, and/or P.E. certification a plus
Active participation in professional organizations a plus
3+ years' experience with boilers, pumps, exchangers and pressure vessels
Project lead experience developing engineering schedules, budgets and forecasts
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work effectively in teams and to present a positive image to clients
Working knowledge of or familiarity with:
Microsoft Office products including MS Project
AutoCAD and 3-D CAD a plus
Mechanical Engineering design tools and calculations (software: PV Elite, Compress, Navisworks, Caesar II, NozzlePro)
Working knowledge of Industry Standards such as API, ASME, ASTM, PIP

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
