- Curriculum Development and Implementation:
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities and lesson plans that promote the physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development of children.
- Turn in your lesson plan to the office every Wednesday for review.
- Create a stimulating and nurturing learning environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and curiosity.
- Child Supervision and Support:
- Provide attentive supervision and support to ensure the safety and well-being of all children in the classroom.
- Foster positive relationships with children, building trust and rapport through caring interactions and responsive caregiving.
- Individualized Instruction and Assessment:
- Assess the needs, interests, and abilities of each child and adapt teaching strategies accordingly to meet their unique developmental goals.
- Offer individualized attention and support to children with special needs or challenges, collaborating with families and other professionals as needed.
- Classroom Management:
- Establish clear and consistent routines and expectations for behavior, promoting a respectful and inclusive classroom community.
- Manage transitions smoothly and effectively, maintaining a calm and organized learning environment.
- Parent Communication and Partnership:
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers, sharing insights, updates, and observations about children's progress and development.
- Collaborate with families to support continuity of care between home and school, fostering a strong sense of partnership and mutual respect.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of children's attendance, developmental milestones, and individualized learning plans.
- Complete required documentation for licensing, accreditation, and developmental screenings, ensuring compliance with state regulations.
- Professional Development and Growth:
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of child development principles.
Stay informed about current trends and best practices in early childhood education, incorporating new ideas and techniques into classroom practice.
- Team Collaboration and Communication:
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and other members of the childcare team, sharing ideas, resources, and support to create a cohesive and collaborative work environment.
- Communicate openly and respectfully with coworkers, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and a commitment to teamwork.
- Health and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including maintaining a clean and sanitary classroom environment, administering medication as needed, and responding appropriately to emergencies.
- Once a week: full sanitation of toys/shelves/tables/chairs/bathrooms
- Cultural Competence and Diversity:
- Respect and celebrate the cultural, linguistic, and familial diversity of children and families in the classroom, incorporating inclusive practices and materials that reflect their backgrounds and experiences.
