The Sherwin-Williams Company Finance & Accounting Full-Time Development Program in Cleveland, Ohio
The Sherwin-Williams Finance & Accounting Full-Time Development Program is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in core finance and accounting. The 12-month program features rotational finance and accounting experiences with cross-functional exposure to all the Finance Networks within Sherwin-Williams to develop the foundation for what it takes to become a successful leader in our organization. You will have the opportunity to spend 3 months in 4 departments each including the Enterprise Financial Services Center of Excellence, Revenue & Margin Planning, Global Policy, and General Accounting. Through these rotations, you will gain meaningful exposure to the processes that drive results for the business, all while developing the skills to prepare you for an analyst role upon successful completion of the program. As a program participant, you will be assigned tasks and projects to apply different skills, knowledge, and strategies to drive financial results and continuous improvement of our finance and accounting processes, allowing you to see the significant role our employees play in Sherwin-William's success. This program is scheduled to begin in June of 2025. Because this role involves access to confidential financial information, the Company has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and to provide similar protections for its clients and potential investments. Day to Day Responsibilities: While rotating through the Enterprise Financial Services Center of Excellence, you will learn about evaluating systems, tools & processes and identifying opportunities for improvement and automation within the department, and analytics and reporting used to provide operational support and Executive review of the operating divisions. While rotating through the Revenue & Margin Planning department, you will learn about enhancing revenue growth and optimizing margin performance via strategic planning, forecasting, and meticulous analysis through data-based decision making, and contribute to accurate forecasts and support business decisions and financial objectives. In the Global Policy department, you will learn about the creation and execution of new or updated accounting policies and communications to the organization by partnering with the business to understand and communicate financial and operational risks that require implementation of controls and developing remediation plans to adequately address control deficiencies. In the General Accounting department, you will learn about the general accounting functions by participating in daily, monthly, and end-of-year financial operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial reporting and reconciliation using accounting automation and enabling systems. Leadership Development: Through program requirements, activities, and daily responsibilities, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of our functional processes, allowing you to see the significant role our employees play in Sherwin-Williams' success. Professional Networking: You will partner with fellow program participants through professional networking and engagement opportunities, work with a variety of finance and accounting experts, and learn from Sherwin-Williams leaders.
