MetroHealth Coordinator Medical Education - Med-Peds Residents in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: Mon through Friday, 8-430 flex hours as needed

Summary:

Assists the program director in managing the residency education programs by ensuring that regulatory and accreditation standards are met, educational activities that support the curriculum are established, departmental policies are created and enforced, and recruitment strategies are implemented so that a highly successful residency program is maintained. Manages the coordination between attending physicians, fellows, residents and medical students. Manages residency, student, and fellowship programs, supports accreditation processes, including coordinating and actively participating in site visits. Supervises support staff, maintains program files and records, and maintains open lines of communication. Demonstrates professionalism, problem-solving, results oriented work habits, and decision making regarding day-to-day residency, student, and fellowship issues. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: Bachelor's Degree with one year experience in medical student and/or resident program support, other training education programs, or related program coordination experience. OR Associate's Degree with three years of year experience in medical student and/or resident program support, other training education programs, or related program coordination experience. OR HS Diploma or passage of a high school equivalency exam with five years of year experience in medical student and/or resident program support, other training education programs, or related program coordination experience. Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products. Proficient in multi-tasking, problem-solving, prioritizing, organizing, and planning. Demonstrated organizational, interpersonal and communication skills. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, requiring high mobility and physical activity. Adaptability and flexibility to changes in work environment are essential. Available to work occasional weekends and evenings as needed.

Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field. Knowledge of applications and processes relevant to residency programs, including databases; resident application services; resident matching programs; resident licensure; visa regulations; accrediting bodies (e.g., ACGME, CMS, Joint Commission, OSHA, and/or other discipline-specific accrediting and regulatory bodies). Knowledge of institution-specific accreditation requirements. Demonstrated proficiency with content management systems and/or web page development. Notary Public Commission.

Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Dexterity to use a computer and related accessories. May involve some travel between MetroHealth, Community Health Centers, and Case Western Reserve University.
