Construction Inspector Location US-OH-Cleveland ID 2023-1127 Category Technicians Position Type Full-time Regular Remote No Overview As a Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction projects are constructed according to the contract documents and project specifications. This role involves being onsite throughout construction conducting onsite inspections, performing materials testing, reviewing plans and specifications, and documenting findings to ensure quality and safety standards are met while working to ensure the project is completed on time and within the project budget. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities Experience performing construction management and inspection duties. Ability to work independently and with others. Must consistently apply Woolpert procedures. Performs quality assurance testing to ensure material compliance. Manages and inspects construction projects and materials for compliance with ODOT specifications and approved construction plans / project documents. Performing inspections according to ODOT contract protocols. Knowledge at reviewing and interpreting construction documents, site drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications. communicates with contractors on a daily basis and works to resolve project related issues. Produce detailed daily and weekly reports. Qualifications ODOT Inspection Experience with relative ODOT Certifications, OR a PE License OR a Construction Management Degree with 3 - 10 years of construction experience. Proficient in AASHTOWare, MS Office, Word, and Excel. Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and owners. General knowledge of construction management, inspections, methods and materials. Good knowledge of soil analysis, materials, compaction, and density tests. General knowledge with construction observation reporting and procedures. Detailed daily report writing and accurate quantity tracking ability. Ability to measure, compute, and document contract pay items for payment. Good communication skills with clients and staff. 10 Hour OSHA Construction Certificate or ability to obtain. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to safely traverse construction and project sites as well as comply with applicable safety codes and requirements. Material Testing Certifications or the ability to obtain in a timely manner. Travel Daily travel required within District 3, 7, 8 or 12. Resulting Physical Qualifications: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment. Must be able to occasionally reach, bend, climb and/or balance. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
