We also develop products and processes related to Cryogenic Fluid and Thermal Management Systems, Densified Propellant Management Systems, and Prototype Extreme Pressure and Temperature Systems. Our customers include the Department of Defense (DoD), the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Space Flight Systems Development and Operations Contract (SpaceDOC III) contract located at NASA's Glenn Research Center. Responsibilities Is a key personnel and report to the E&S DM. GLs are at the organization major discipline level within their respective groups and provide core technical expertise. GLs are responsible for personnel/resources including performance evaluations, counseling, and training. They support the PjMs in developing WPs. They identify new tools that are needed for personnel, training, and engineering assessments. They develop approaches, review engineering methods, and sign work products in their discipline to make sure they are of high quality and technically rigorous. Qualifications Communications engineer is responsible for ensuring effective communication systems and technologies that support the space agency's missions, including satellite, spacecraft, and ground-based communication infrastructure. This role typically involves a variety of tasks in both technical and operational areas related to space missions, research, and engineering. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. A Master's or Doctorate in a specialized area may be required for advanced positions. Proficiency with communication systems, including RF (radio frequency) systems, telemetry, satellite communication, and signal processing. Familiarity with software used in communications systems, such as MATLAB, LabVIEW, or other simulation tools. Knowledge of space communication standards Prior experience in communications engineering, particularly in the aerospace or space industry, is often required.
