MetroHealth Advance Practice Provider-Pediatric Foster Care in CLEVELAND, Ohio

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled advanced practice provider (APP)/nurse practitioner (NP) to join our team of Foster Care in the Department of Pediatrics in The MetroHealth System. The ideal candidate will be working in a team of advanced practice providers (APPs) and a medical director which will be responsible for providing comprehensive medical care to children and adolescents in foster care, ensuring their physical and emotional wellbeing. This role requires collaboration with foster families, DCFS, social workers, and other health care professionals to coordinate care and advocate for the needs of the children in foster care. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children by providing high quality medical care and support. This position will entail daytime hours as well as on call hours as part of a team of total 5 APPs.

Summary:

Delivers direct patient care consistent with the advanced practice registered nurse’s education, experience and certification, in collaboration with a physician, which includes diagnosis, management and/or referral of health care issues. Promotes consumer, family, and community health through preventative health care actions and through patient advocacy. The advanced practice registered nurse may also manage complex illnesses and/or deliver specialty care. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire. Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing Note: Other department specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process.

Preferred: Have or be able to apply for a Certificate to Prescribe/Externship from the Ohio Board of Nursing
