OPPORTUNITY:

Graphic Packaging International is a Foodservice cup forming manufacturing operation seeking candidates to join our Clarksville, TN. team. This job posting is for a Salary Exempt Engineering/Maintenance Manager.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Plant Engineering Manager is responsible for leading all phases of assigned capital projects, including initial project concept and metrics, project approval, planning and coordination of vendor responsibilities, interface with operations and department management, financial control, and reporting. Additional responsibilities include leading continuous, formal communication between operations and department management, and plant reliability leadership on chronic and single event issues that have led to avoidable downtime and material/labor cost. They are responsible for safety, employee engagement, productivity, quality, and customer service associated with a multi-shift Maintenance operation. They are responsible for managing the daily operation of this department, ensuring efficiencies and overall productivity meets or exceeds established standards.

EDUCATION PREFERRED:

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering, Technology, or related field strongly preferred); or closely related work experience required in lieu of degree.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

SKILLS:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team, including train, coach, mentor, counsel, and discipline.

  • Strong strategic, analytical problem-solving ability (TCC/Trouble Cause Correction)

  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills; ability to motivate people.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S or other discipline)

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Computer skills with a focus on Microsoft office applications.

  • Proficiency with computer-based maintenance management systems.

  • Ability to work independently as well as the ability to coordinate activities with different departments

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

  • Sitting, walking, or standing for extended periods of time up to 12-hours.

  • Occasional Lifting up to 20 lbs.

  • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.

  • Use of various office equipment, hand and electrical tools or equipment.

  • Use of Personal Protective Equipment in designated areas (Safety Shoes, Hearing Protection, Hair & Beard Netting).

  • Working in various temperatures & humidity levels depending on building & department (not all areas are temperature controlled throughout facilities).

  • Ability to work overtime (greater than 40 hours per week)

  • Ability to work any shift, including 12+ hours, evenings, and weekends.

SCHEDULE DEMANDS:

  • Typical schedule consists of an 8-hour M-F assignment, however, employee must be willing to work alternate schedules; that may include early mornings, nights, and/or weekends and be punctual while doing so.

  • Occasional overnight travel to include flying, driving, riding or by rail.

Pay Range: $106,110.00 - $141,480.00
