The Data Engineer SME is responsible for all aspects of data profiling, data design, data management, and production of test data. The Data Engineer SME shall support the Government’s efforts in migrating the current National Crime Information Center (NCIC) system to the cloud for the next generation system (N3G).
Responsibilities
Works within established databases to conduct in depth data analysis to produce data profiles in support of customer business objectives
Generates data sets to meet specific data profiles to be used for all levels of testing within the SAFe framework
Strips sensitive information from data to produce sanitized test data sets where needed
All work is designed to support efforts by the government client in migrating a legacy National Crime Information Center Database(s) to a cloud environment while maintaining Data integrity and support parameters such as timeliness and accuracy of generated reports
Tests and corrects errors and refines changes to database
Interacts with development and end-user personnel to determine application data access requirements, transaction rates, volume analysis, and other pertinent data required to develop and maintain integrated databases
Work is specialized in one or more types of database management systems.
Performs work under minimal supervision
Handles complex issues and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher-level staff
Qualifications
A minimum of twelve (12) years of data management, database administration or equivalent experience
A minimum of eight (8) years of data engineering, data analysis, or equivalent experience
Secret Security Clearance
Possesses comprehensive knowledge of subject matter.
a bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience
Desired Qualifications:
Prior work experience with the Federal Government
Prior work experience with CJIS systems and associated persistent and/or non-persistent data
Prior work experience with either Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Azure
Familiarity with Agile development
Pay Range
160K - 165K
