Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Security Officer 1 - Clarks Summit State Hospital in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

 

As a Security Officer 1, your primary responsibility is to protect life and property on the facility by enforcing Commonwealth, DHS, and facility rules and regulations relating to hospital operations through mobile and walking patrol and monitoring of security systems and cameras throughout the facility.  You will respond to all emergencies on the facility and provide assistance to stabilize or correct the emergency situation, in addition to providing Fire & Life Safety measures as appropriate.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM OR 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch; rotating days off, every 2nd weekend off and holidays as assigned.  May change based upon operational needs.
  • Overtime and travel as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • No previous experience or training required.

Necessary Special Requirement:

  • You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle operator's license. 

     

Other Requirements:

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

    1. Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
