DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The position involves performing technical duties within the maintenance department of Lackawanna County, assisting senior staff in maintenance tasks by utilizing information management systems such as systems, applications, and products (SAP), plant maintenance and roadway management system (SRM), and ePayroll to improve efficiency and quality through continuous enhancement methods. Responsibilities include overseeing tree contractors, surveying highways for tree removal requirements, supervising project locations, and verifying contractor payments. Additionally, duties entail overseeing dumpster maintenance agreements, arranging pick-ups, and addressing any concerns prior to payment. Moreover, tasks involve aiding in coordinating herbicide spraying efforts and monitoring rental equipment usage for scheduled projects to ensure precise payments and resolve any discrepancies.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Schedule is subject to change due to weather/season; winter shifts - 4:00 AM to 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Technical Assistant; or
  • One year of experience in analysis of data utilized in planning and scheduling of work, materials and equipment and graduation from high school or GED equivalent; or
  • An Associate's Degree in a field of Business Administration, Computer Science, Highway Engineering Technology or other closely related program; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training. 
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
