THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services, Clarks Summit State Hospital is looking for a dedicated and experienced Maintenance Repairman 2 to perform various skilled and semi-skilled tasks in repair and maintenance of machinery, buildings, and equipment.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will be working alongside our skilled electricians assigned to the Electrical Shop, maintaining 40 buildings at our facility which spans 152 acres of land. You will perform electrical and mechanical repairs to machinery and electrical distribution systems and equipment. You will be responsible for performing skilled tasks and repairs associated with building maintenance trades related to electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment repair under the supervision of the Electrical Foreman in the Maintenance Trades Section of the Facility Services Department. 

Some key duties of the position include repairing and maintaining electrical equipment and lighting. In addition, you will inspect, install, repair, and maintain electrical equipment using a variety of electrical measuring and metering devices. This position requires a multi-skilled, self-motivated, and independent thinker to complete electrical assignments, as well as possess the ability to learn and utilize newly acquired skills in these trades.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• You will be required to work every 12th weekend, with on-call holidays as assigned. There is a 12-person weekend work rotation.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
• Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.   

Special Requirement: 

•  You must possess a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
