What You Will Do:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Internal Control Director to join our Operations Finance Leadership team. As the Internal Control Director, you will be responsible for overseeing internal control processes and procedures across our six manufacturing plants located in the United States and Canada. Your primary objective will be to ensure compliance with company policies, identify and mitigate risks, and improve operational efficiency within the manufacturing function while driving a culture of accountability, integrity, and ethical behavior.

  • Design and Implement Internal Control Roadmap and priorities: Create and implement robust internal control framework, policies, and procedures within Manufacturing Finance, Operations, MSC, EHS and HR activities across L’Oreal USA and Canada; ensure internal control by design on all projects. Benchmark and create value though best practice sharing and standardization. Ensure location animation at sites.

  • As part of a matrix environment, serve as the go-to-person for ALL internal control matters for Manufacturing ; partner with other internal control members (ex. trade policy, supply chain, sourcing, etc.) to assist in the development of a strong internal control culture and added value creation for the business. Develop local IC managers at sites to ensure local coverage.

  • Controls Design and Implementation: Develop, lead, and implement effective internal controls to mitigate identified risks, ensuring accuracy and completeness of group compliance, best practices implementation for but not limited to; inventory management, destructions, excess and obsolete, and procurement processes.

  • Audit Management & Follow up: In charge of success of internal and external audits and implementation of recommended actions within specified timeline; prepare detailed reports for Operations management and L’Oreal US management highlighting control deficiencies, improvements, and compliance status.

  • Self-Assessment Campaigns: Coordinate annual self-assessment for each plant. Ensure timely completion as required by group timeline. Ensure corrective actions are in place prior to validation. Develop zone summary for strategic alignment and improvement across all functional areas.

  • Norms Development : Assist in development, review, and implementation of internal control norms for manufacturing compliance; assess compliance with existing and new norms. Work with other zones and DGO Manufacturing IC lead on continuous improvement projects.

  • Training and Awareness : Provide training and awareness sessions to relevant personnel on LUSA policy regulations, internal controls, and company procedures.

  • Reporting and Communication : Prepare reports and presentations on internal control compliance and identified risks for Operations management and L’Oreal USA leadership. Ensure local plant communication is standardized, timely and impactful. Lead investigations into any suspected fraudulent activities or non-compliance issues, ensuring timely resolution and appropriate actions are taken while maintaining confidentiality.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field

  • 5-7 years of Finance Experience

  • Proven leadership ability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with SAP preferred
