Citigroup PAM Infrastructure Intmd Project Manager in Ciudad De Mexico, Mexico

The IT Project Intmd Analyst is a developing professional role. Deals with most problems independently and has some latitude to solve complex problems. Integrates in-depth specialty area knowledge with a solid understanding of industry standards and practices. Good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing the objectives of the subfunction/ job family. Applies analytical thinking and knowledge of data analysis tools and methodologies. Requires attention to detail when making judgments and recommendations based on the analysis of factual information. Typically deals with variable issues with potentially broader business impact. Applies professional judgment when interpreting data and results. Breaks down information in a systematic and communicable manner. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required in order to exchange potentially complex/sensitive information. Moderate but direct impact through close contact with the businesses' core activities. Quality and timeliness of service provided will affect the effectiveness of own team and other closely related teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates activities of an IT project team, identifying necessary resources and developing schedules to meet completion deadlines.

  • Collaborates in development of project business and system requirements.

  • Develops requirement documentation.

  • Communicates with project staff and clients regarding status of projects.

  • Utilizes project management tools and provides project status tracking and metrics

  • Utilizes project management tools and provides project status tracking, metrics and project estimates.

  • Contributes to process improvement efforts.

  • Utilizes good understanding of IT project leadership procedures and concepts and basic knowledge of other technical areas.

  • Evaluates business processes, system processes and industry standards.

  • Applies good understanding of how the team and area integrate with others in accomplishing objectives.

  • Provides guidance to new or lower level analysts.

  • Makes evaluative judgments based on analysis of factual information; resolves problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and guided by precedents.

  • Directly impacts the business by ensuring the quality of work provided by self and others; impacts own team and closely related work teams.

  • Exchanges ideas and information in a concise and logical manner.

  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years experience in an IT project leadership role with commensurate people management experience.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience

The Infrastructure Project Manager is a strategic professional who stays abreast of developments within own field and contributes by demonstrating a high level of leadership, as well as providing directional strategy to the partners and stakeholders in the delivery process. Developed communication and diplomacy skills are required to guide, influence and convince others, in particular colleagues in other areas and occasional external customers. Significant impact on the area through complex deliverables.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple large business strategic high dollar-value infrastructure projects, with cross-functional impact or significant impact in a single functional area.

  • Must be extremely technically sound to understand aspects related to Distributed Systems and associated Technologies

  • Ensures that projects remain aligned with strategic initiatives, providing updates as necessary to sponsors/committees and ensuring adequate resources are available.

  • Partners with the various clients to develop objectives for key projects.

  • Manage the overall plan for the business-related activities.

  • Manages complex financials typically associated with infrastructure projects – this is a mandatory requirement

  • Practices established project management disciplines including the development of project plans/timelines, facilitates project meetings, etc.

  • Identifies critical paths for large projects, including the sequencing of events.

  • Orchestrate and drive the successful and timely completion of infrastructure scope in Technology projects to achieve the business goals, including the identification and resolution of risks and issues, which impact project delivery.

  • Work collaboratively with extended the technology teams to develop comprehensive infrastructure project plans based on approved funding. Project plans typically include scope, schedule, cost, quality, roles and responsibilities, communication, staffing, risk and issue management. Obtain commitment to the plans.

  • Ensure that for each of the programs/projects in his/her portfolio:

  • All stakeholders and their needs are identified and managed.

  • Effectively manage project work within the approved scope. Implement and manage scope change control processes and update project plans based on approved changes.

  • In conjunction with the team, lead the development of the work breakdown structure and creation of the detailed project schedule. Understand the dependencies and inter-relationships of the tasks and deliverables.

  • Monitor actual schedule and costs against the project estimates. Report significant variances and develop corrective action plans.

  • Communicate effectively with staff and management on status, issues, risks, project goals and objectives.

  • Schedule and lead project meetings as required, including preparation of meeting agendas and meeting minutes.

  • Creates and distributes project status/project progress reports to team and management.

Qualifications -

  • Primarily, the individual needs strong skills in relationship building and management, program management/planning, presentations, and communication.

  • PM Industry knowledge or experience mandatory.

  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is preferred , but not mandatory.

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in business.

  • 3-5 years’ experience in infrastructure project management managing complex infrastructure initiatives in a matrix environment, during which s/he applied a structured approach (methodology) to project planning, estimating, monitoring and reporting through the full project lifecycle, from initiation through closure

  • Experience in managing large globally distributed project teams who are not reporting directly and are associated with the PM for the purpose of the project only.

  • Demonstrate leadership and adaptability when facing unique challenges encountered on each project

  • Expert communication skills ( English language proficiency mandatory, as key infrastructure partners will be in the US ), significant experience leading technicians and interfacing with senior management

  • Specialized knowledge or broad technical understanding across complex technical infrastructure

  • High energy and a passion for project management and its processes

  • Very strong written, spoken and presentation communication skills

  • Very strong influencing and partnering skills

  • Strong meeting organization and facilitation skills

  • Team player with ability to handle strong personalities at all levels of the company

  • Experience and ease in interfacing with senior management across multiple business sectors

  • Track record of managing work to achieve milestones on time and within budget in a high-pressure environment

  • Analytical, flexible, team-oriented, have good interpersonal and follow up skills with strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task

  • Technical proficiencies in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project) and industry standard project management tools.

  • Financial Services experience preferred, but not mandatory

  • Efficient in spoken English, as several key infrastructure partners will be in the US.
