EMSL Analytical Inc. Mineralologist in Cinnaminson, New Jersey
EMSL is seeking a Mineralogist in Cinnaminson, NJ. This position involves preparation and analysis of samples. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mineralogy identifying various materials using microscopy. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Analyzing air, rock, soil and bulk materials for mineral fibersIdentification of samples by Transmission Electron Microscopy with Energy Dispersive spectrometry an electron diffraction patternsTests include: AHERA, NOB, 6480, 5755, ISO 10312 and 100.2Analyzing air, rock, soil and bulk materials for mineral fibersIdentification of samples by Polarized Light Microscopy (PLM)Tests include: EPA 600-R-93-116 including NOB, NIOSH 9002, CARB M435 Perform quality control practices per company quality assurance/quality control manualAssist with clerical and lab duties as needed, such as data entry, sample review and maintenance/calibration of laboratory instrumentation/equipmentRequirements:Bachelor's Degree in Geology/ Mineralogy Three to Five years working with PLM or TEM and experience identifying asbestos and non-asbestos mineralsOptical mineralogy/petrographic microscope training a plusPrior experience with Digital cameras and EDXA systems, a plusCandidate must be able to distinguish colors in order to perform analysisAbility to work independently and with a teamAbility to work in a fast-paced setting, multi-task, and prioritize assignmentsGood communication, computer, typing, and organizational skillsMust be willing to travel for training and work overtimeAvailable Shifts:Monday to Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. For consideration ALL applicants must apply through careers web site:https://phf.tbe.taleo.net/phf02/ats/careers/v2/viewRequisition?org=EMSL&cws=40&rid=4494 EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending accountTo find out more about EMSL Analytical, Inc. please visit our website at: www.emsl.com EOE including Veterans and Disabled
