EMSL is seeking an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Assistant in Cinnaminson, NJ. This role will support our EHS program and work closely with the Environmental Health and Safety Manager.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Maintain the EHS safety databaseConduct routine monthly safety audits in conjunction with Laboratory Departments for proper chemical storage and personal protective equipmentInspect safety showers and eye wash stationsAssist in performing and documenting quarterly air flow measurements for department chemical hoods and countertop local exhaust ventilationOversee hazardous waste storage, support transfer of waste to central accumulation area, schedule contractor pickup, maintain waste manifests, and prepare bi-annual reportsParticipate in local safety committeeMaintain Safety Data Sheet databaseSupport laboratory emergency drills such as fire and evacuationCollaborate with laboratory, engineering and facilities management as needed to complete laboratory safety program objectivesParticipate in incident investigation with EHS Manager and other team membersOthers duties as assigned to meet business needsRequirements:Bachelor's degree in related sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Safety, Industrial Hygiene) OR minimum of one to three years of Environmental, Health and Safety experience preferably in a laboratory settingBasic understanding and/or training in OSHA and EPA regulations, RCRA Hazardous Waste, and DOT/IATA shipping hazardous materialsDetail oriented, strong communication and organizational skills, and ability to work with other employees within the facilityComputer proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Excel & PowerPoint)Available Shifts:Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.For consideration all applicants must apply through our company website: https://phf.tbe.taleo.net/phf02/ats/careers/v2/viewRequisition?org=EMSL&cws=40&rid=4400EMSL offers full time benefits: medical, dental, 401(k), voluntary benefits, paid time off, holiday pay and a flexible spending accountTo find out more about EMSL Analytical, Inc. please visit our website at: www.emsl.comEOE including Veterans and Disabled
