This unique role focuses on designing and implementing intuitive, research-driven digital solutions that support cutting-edge medical research aimed at improving patient outcomes and care. The ideal candidate will be mission-driven and have a passion for creating user-centered designs that resonate with children, families, researchers and healthcare professionals, while leveraging technical expertise to bring these designs to life. RESPONSIBILITIES UI/UX Design: * Design engaging, age-appropriate interfaces that prioritize ease of use for children, caregivers, researchers, and healthcare providers. * Create wireframes, prototypes, and mockups tailored to healthcare and research-focused applications. * Conduct user research and usability testing within an academic health environment to gather insights and refine designs. * Ensure all designs adhere to branding guidelines, accessibility standards (e.g., WCAG), and compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA. Front-End Development: * Build responsive, accessible, and interactive web interfaces using modern technologies like HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript. * Leverage frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js to develop scalable solutions for patient portals, research tools, and internal hospital systems. * Optimize front-end performance for devices and browsers commonly used by researchers, hospital staff and patients. * Integrate with back-end systems to ensure seamless functionality of research and patient care applications. * Follow standards and guidance from more seasoned engineers. * Comply with security standards and best practices. Customer Service/Support * Ensure outstanding end-user support, including ongoing monitoring of Service Level Agreements for incident management * Collaborate with other functional teams for customer-centered incident management and support * Adhere to and promote continual adoption of change management policies and procedures * Model outstanding customer service behavior, including timely and effective follow-up with customers * Escalate support issues with urgency Collaboration * Work closely with a diverse team, engaging in design and technical discussions that foster continuous improvement. * Collaborate with various stakeholders within the organization.
