Job Overview:

Aptim Federal Services, LLC (APTIM) has an opening for a staff engineer to conduct research and development environmental testing and serve as a project leader at the USEPA Test and Evaluation (T&E) Facility in Cincinnati, OH. Operational experience with analytical instrumentation, telemetry, or SCADA is desirable.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

• Design bench-, pilot-, and field- scale treatability studies, including proven experience on development of process flow diagrams and equipment specifications (pumps, valves, piping, etc.) per EPA client requirements.
• Manage and lead a multi-disciplinary project team and subcontractors for conducting multiple bench-, pilot-, and field evaluations related to the treatment of drinking water, stormwater, and wastewater.
• Develop and/or guide junior staff to develop quality assurance project plans in various disciplines and related health and safety plans for investigative field and laboratory studies.
• Maintain clear and accurate laboratory notebooks (paper/electronic) and document analyses consistent with good laboratory practices.
• Generate written reports of high quality and suitable for peer-reviewed journal articles.
• Prepare and make oral presentations.
• Interpret analytical data, operate analytical instrumentation, and provide guidance to junior analysts on chemical analytical methods using a variety of on-site analytical instrumentation.
• Experience with telemetry and SCADA.

Basic Qualifications:

• D./M.S. in chemical or environmental engineering with 4 to 6 years of related R&D experience
• Professional Engineer is desired.
• Computer networking experience is desired.
