L2 Aviation Production Technician (CVG) in Cincinnati, Ohio
Position: Production Technician (CVG) Location: Cincinnati, OH (CVG Airport area) Description: An L2 Aviation Production Technician plays a vital role in creating high‐quality harnesses and electronic components for the aerospace industry. In this role, you’ll operate a variety of machinery, learn our processes, and work with a range of hand tools to fabricate and assemble critical components. Your day-to‐day work will involve inspecting kits, laser marking wires, preparing and terminating wires, assembling harnesses and ensuring top‐notch quality through continuity checks and adherence to engineering specifications. You'll have the chance to work with advanced components, including complex terminations, and gain valuable experience in an innovative manufacturing environment. Primary Responsibilities: The standard duties would include but not limited to: Incoming inspection of kits received from materials Laser Marking of wires and alternate identification processes Creating bag and harness labels Wire preparation which includes stripping of wires and crimping of pins as well as installing solder sleeves Terminating prepped wires into connectors Form boarding harnesses per engineering documents Continuity checks of all assemblies Final bagging and kitting (with direction) Will have some experience with harness fabrication, electronics or other manufacturing processes. Will have some complex terminations exposure i.e., Quadrax, Coax Ability to operate avionics test equipment such as digital multi‐meter and TDR All work will be done in accordance with company SOP’s (Standard Operating Processes) and any governing technical data such as aircraft manufacturer standard wiring practices or FAA applicable requirements for safe and high‐quality product completion. Being proactive in department Continuous Improvement Program and assisting in the creation and/or revision of existing SOP’s is required. Tool control, shop cleanliness, work area cleanliness is a daily responsibility as well as a dedication to producing top quality industry leading products. Preferred Skills and Abilities: Harness, Panel or Kit assembly experience Aerospace or aircraft Electrical and or Mechanical assembly experience Some Familiarity with Manufacturer Standard Wiring Practices Understanding and familiarity with handling electrostatic devices and components Experienced in working with various hand tools Solder experience (solder certification to IPC‐610 and/or J‐STD‐001 desirable) Ability to read color‐codes, assembly and harness drawings Required: High school diploma or trade equivalent Basic computer skills Excellent communication skills Must be detail oriented within a fast‐paced environment Must be willing to take on new tasks and work in a quickly changing environment Ability to meet or exceed deadlines Must be able to work overtime and weekends as necessary Dependable Ability to read, write and speak the English language. Must pass background verification, pre-employment drug testing, and submit to company's Drug and Alcohol Abuse Program. Must be legally able to work in the USA and supply required supporting documentation. Please note that initial training for certain positions may take place at our Dripping Springs, Texas location, and could last between four to six weeks, depending on the role and the candidate's qualifications and experience.
