Oncology Hematology Care, Inc. New Patient Scheduling / Pre-services Coordinator in Cincinnati, Ohio

Overview OHC - Specialists in Cancer and Blood disorders, is seeking Pre-Services Coordinator / New patient scheduler. As the only independent adult cancer program in the region, we offer Medical, Radiation, Blood and Marrow Transplant, Gynecologic, and Breast Surgical Oncology services. OHC supports a robust cancer research and clinical trials program, neuro-oncology, cancer genetics specialists and supportive care program. As a Pre-Services Coordinator, you will be able to work remotely from home after completing our in-person training program. Responsibilities include scheduling and pre-registering new patients for appointments, maintaining patient records, preparing forms, verifying information, and resolving routine and non-routine problems. Schedules new patient appointments with appropriate provider. Provides patients with appointment details such as time, location, directions, and instructions to patients. Records call statistics in New Patient Log. Maintains and updates physician schedules ensuring that patients are scheduled properly. Works in conjunction with the triage nurses to accommodate scheduling requests. Obtains patient demographic, insurance and other pre-visit required information. Enters patient information into computer systems. Verifies patient*s insurance eligibility and benefit coverage/co-pays with payer; verifies pre-authorizations are completed prior to patient visit. May mail or email patient appropriate medical forms for completion prior to first visit. Proactively follows-up with patients on missing or outdated insurance information as well as copies of medical records and test results from other providers. Maintains strictest confidentiality; adheres to all HIPAA guidelines/regulations. Other duties as requested or assigned. Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: -High School diploma or equivalent required. -Associates degree in Finance, Business or four years revenue cycle experience preferred. -Minimum three (3) years medical receptionist experience with insurance forms and scheduling software required. Knowledge of this practice's personnel, daily routines, and scheduling a plus. Proficiency with computer systems and Microsoft (Outlook, Office Word, and Excel) required. -Must successfully complete required e-learning courses within 90 days of occupying position. -Demonstrates Adaptability: Handles day to day work challenges confidently; is willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities; demonstrates flexibility. -Shows Work Commitment: Sets high standards of performance and works efficiently to achieve them. -Commits to Quality: Emphasizes the need to deliver quality products and/or services
