Job Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Manufacturing Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that our manufacturing processes consistently produce high-quality products that meet customer specifications and industry standards. You will work closely with the production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to monitor and improve production processes, troubleshoot issues, and drive continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Assurance & Control: Develop and implement quality control systems, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Monitor production processes and conduct inspections to ensure products meet quality specifications.

  • Process Optimization: Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify areas for process improvement. Apply lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize production workflows and reduce defects.

  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause analysis on quality issues, identify trends, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address recurring problems.

  • Testing & Validation: Oversee the testing and validation of materials, products, and processes to ensure reliability and functionality. Ensure that all tests are documented and results are analyzed.

  • Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all quality processes and records comply with relevant industry standards (ISO, GMP, etc.). Maintain accurate documentation of inspection results, audit findings, and quality reports.

  • Training & Development: Provide training to production staff and team members on quality standards, testing procedures, and the proper use of quality control tools and equipment.

  • Supplier Quality Management: Work with suppliers to assess the quality of incoming materials and components. Perform supplier audits and resolve quality issues related to sourced parts or materials.

  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams including production, engineering, and supply chain to drive quality initiatives and improve product quality.

  • Continuous Improvement: Lead and participate in continuous improvement projects focused on improving product quality, reducing waste, and enhancing manufacturing efficiency.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or related field.

  • In lieu of degree, 3+ years of experience offering transferrable skills will be given consideration.

  • Proven experience as a Quality Engineer or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of quality control procedures, industry standards, and regulations.

  • Proficiency with quality management systems, statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and CAPA.

  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies is a plus.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in Quality Engineering (CQE) or similar credentials.

  • Experience with CAD software, manufacturing execution systems (MES), and ERP systems.

  • Knowledge of statistical software (Minitab, JMP, etc.) for data analysis.
