TRC's dedicated National Energy Siting Practice is a leading provider of services to the growing renewables and transmission markets throughout North America. POSITION SUMMARY TRC's National Energy Siting and Permitting Practice is seeking to grow our successful transmission and renewables siting and permitting practice. We are looking for individuals with over 5 years energy consulting experience, a broad base of GIS, siting, permitting, and planning experience to grow our portfolio of inter and intrastate electric transmission and renewables siting projects. Candidates interested should have a detailed knowledge of ArcGIS and related platforms, be able to contribute to innovative solutions to siting problems and be willing to bring ideas and solutions to an exciting and innovative team. The position includes leading web mapping-based meetings, creating and editing GIS projects, performing routing studies, automating data collection where possible, performing raster-based optimal path analysis along with other siting solutions. Minimum experience required for this position is 5-10 years' and at least a bachelor's degree in geography, planning or environmental science (or related fields). Will consider candidates near other TRC offices (https://www.trccompanies.com/offices/) Responsibilities KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & TASKS Work as part of TRC's siting team on existing and new projects, applying our well tested transmission routing protocols, data management and processing, and report preparation. Set up and manage siting projects in ArcGIS. Set up and update web maps for the project team and clients (used to communicate and capture edits in siting meetings). As part of our siting process be able to perform raster-based analyses and optimal path analysis based on those surfaces (we periodically use this on large projects to narrow the study area).
