Construction Inspector - ODOT Certified ID 2024-1848 Job Locations US-OH-Dayton | US-OH-Cincinnati Workplace Type Hybrid Overview Construction Inspector - ODOT CertifiedColumbus, Cincinnati, Dayton, OH Position Summary As Construction Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that projects are constructed according to the contract documents and project specifications. This role involves being onsite throughout construction, conducting onsite inspections, performing materials testing, reviewing plans and specifications, and documenting findings to ensure quality and safety standards are met while working to ensure the project is completed on time and within the project budget. Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities . Essential Functions Perform construction inspection and management duties. Work independently and with others. Consistently apply Woolpert procedures. Perform quality assurance testing to ensure material compliance. Manage and inspect construction projects and materials for compliance with INDOT specifications and approved construction plans/project documents. Perform inspections according to ODOT contract protocols. Review and interpret construction documents, site drawings, as-built drawings, and specifications. Communicate with contractors daily and work to resolve project-related issues. Produce detailed daily and weekly reports. Qualifications Qualifications: ODOT inspection experience with relative ODOT certifications Construction management degree and/or 3 to 10 years of construction experience. Proficient in Sitemanager/AASHTOWare, MS Office, Word, and Excel. Ability to communicate effectively with teammates and owners. General knowledge of construction management, inspections, methods, and materials. General knowledge of soil analysis, materials, compaction, and density tests. General knowledge of construction observation reporting and procedures. Ability to write detailed daily reports and accurately track quantity. Ability to measure, compute, and document contract pay items for payment. Effective communication skills with clients and staff. 10-hour OSHA Construction Certificate or ability to obtain in a timely manner. Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Ability to safely traverse construction and project sites and comply with applicable safety codes and requirements. Material Testing Certification or the ability to obtain in a timely manner. Travel Daily travel required: Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus are Resulting Physical Qualifications: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment. Must be able to occasionally reach, bend, climb and/or balance.
